Shotover River

This was the highlight on Saturday afternoon.  There is the river called the Shotover and you go down it in this jet boat that goes warp speed and does 360's .  When you go down the river you are in a canyon with rock cliffs and there are huge rocks in the water. These boats were built for this and go up to 80 mph in as little water as a foot.

Earlier in the day we took a 4 wheel drive out to Glengory and the surrounding  areas where they did some filming of Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit.  The terrain here makes for some beautiful scenery for these kinds of films, for middle earth looks.  Some of the mountains ranges they have used for films for Pakistan and Iran. These producers have great imagination!!

For dinner we went to Botswana Butchery.  Queenstown has some really good restaurants and they are very conscious of organic and free range.  The prices also reflect the freshness of the food, but so far we have eaten great and tasted some really good wines.
